Over the coming months we’re going to share what makes our team tick! Up first is our Service Desk Team Leader, Daniel Prowse.
1. What is your role at Diamond?
As Diamond’s Service Desk Team Leader, I am responsible for the operational delivery of IT services. Some of my daily activities include monitoring technical and customer service KPIs, end to end management of incidents and service requests, acting as a top tier technical escalation point, identifying and communicating process improvements, and mentoring team members to foster technical and professional growth.
2. What do you like most about working at Diamond?
Definitely the culture. Diamond’s commitment to smooth team dynamics and recruiting employees with real passion results in a strong sense of collaboration. We pride ourselves on raising the bar as a team, and have fun in the process.
3. Why did you choose to enter the field?
Having a keen interest in science and technology from a young age, a general career choice was easy. Through testing the waters of each new role or facet of IT I found the fast pace, team culture, and wide range of technology offered by Managed Services, provided a challenging and rewarding environment each day.
4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?
Christopher Hitchens. A successful journalist and author heavily engaged in polemics, Christopher’s writing, interviews, and debates heavily influenced the way I think on a daily basis. Considered one of the most influential and charismatic in his field, the full effect of Christopher’s objective view on politics, religion, and morality would likely only have been felt after meeting in person.
5. People would be surprised to know….
As a gamer and fantasy enthusiast at heart, when I am not studying or meeting other obligations, various portions of my spare time are spent reading novels or playing computer and tabletop games. I find few other activities offer both a creative escape and active social interaction simultaneously.
